Elon Musk is striking in Bill Gates after Microsoft co -founder accused him of endangering the lives of vulnerable children around the world by pressure to dismantle the American foreign aid apparatus.
“Who do you think Bill Gates thinks he will make comments on children’s well -being?” Musk said during an interview on Tuesday at the Bloomberg Qatar Economic Forum, responding to Gates’ claim that Musk’s policies were damaging the poorest communities in the world.
Musk, who pledged to continue Tesla’s leadership as her CEO for at least the next five years, added: “Tell us any evidence whatever is true. It is a false.”
The post has requested comment from Gates and Musk.
Musk’s attack against Gates came after the software mogul gave a bubble interview at the Financial Times in which he accused CEO of Tesla and DOGE (Government Efficiency Department) Chief of US Foreign Aid Programs under President Trump’s directive.
“The picture of the richest man in the world killing the poorest children in the world is not beautiful,” Gates said, showing funding for the US Agency for International Development (USAID), including programs that provided HIV prevention medicines in Mozambique.
“I would like him to get inside and meet the kids who are now infected with HIV because he cut them money.”
Gates said the decision to reduce USAID funds stemmed from conspiracy theories that were said to be circulating in the inner circle of Musk – specifically, that foreign aid was being used to send condoms to Hamas in Gaza.
In February, Musk’s agency stated that it was “time for [USAID] to die, “and destroyed numerous programs. He later marked an electric sawmill scene along with Argentine President Javier Milei during the conservative conference of political action at a theatrical celebration of budget cuts.
In defending the cuts, a White House spokesman described Musk as “a patriot working to fulfill President Trump’s mission to eliminate waste, fraud and abuse.”
However, Gates said policies had “real world consequences”, mentioning that life -saving vaccines were expiring in the warehouse due to lack of distribution funds.
The escalating disagreement between Musk and Gates is the last flame in a collision of years between the two technology titans.
Their disputes have begun from public health policy and philanthropy to finance – including an episode of 2022 in which Musk is publicly mocking Gates after learning that Microsoft founder had shortened Tesla’s actions.
The escalating disagreement between Musk and Gates is the last flame in a collision of years between the two technology titans.
Their public tensions date back to at least 2020, when Gates cast doubt on the durability of long-term electric trucks to be switched on on Twitter (now X), calling the gates “underestimated” and posting memes mocking its appearance.
When Gates agreed to cut Tesla’s shares despite support for climate initiatives, Musk accused him of hypocrisy.
“He had a large short position against Tesla, which is the company that does more to solve climate change,” Musk Tweet in 2022. “This is not delightful.”
Musk also called Gates “a knucklehead” during a conversation in the club and ridiculed his knowledge of electric vehicles, while Gates have criticized Musk for minimizing Covid-19 and spreading disinformation during the pandemia.
Gates particularly warned that Musk should stay in his lane when it comes to public health, saying, “He is not very involved in vaccines.”
