Elon Musk is reaffiring his commitment to Tesla’s leadership, telling investors and critics, just as he plans to leave the manufacturer of electric vehicles at any time soon – despite a rocky extension for the late company.
Speaking remotely at the Bloomberg Qatari Economic Forum on Tuesday, Musk said he expects Tesla’s chief executive for at least five years, although his leadership has been under control of the fall of sales and public reactions.
Musk told the meeting that he wants to own more company shares in order to maintain more impact on the main decisions.
“It’s not a thing ahead,” Musk said. “It is a reasonable control of the company, over the future of the company.”
The billionaire’s entrepreneur, who has kept high work in Tesla since 2008, made remarks while Tesla is collected with the first annual fall of vehicle shipments over a decade – a slide that continued in 2025.
However, Musk dismissed concerns that the company is in serious trouble.
“It’s already back,” he said.
Musk admitted that Tesla’s performance in Europe has been particularly weak, but claimed that the company is doing well elsewhere.
“Our sales are going well at this point,” he said. “We do not foresee any significant lack of sales.”
Tesla’s shares increased up to 3.6% after its comments before reducing profits. The shares are still up 14% for the year.
Musk also minimized criticism that his personal views and political activity have damaged the Tesla brand, especially among left -wing consumers.
He argued that while the company may have lost support from several neighborhoods, it has won new fans from the political right.
He also condemned activists who targeted Tesla’s vehicles and shops in protest, describing them as violent and dangerous.
“They’re on the wrong side of history and that’s a bad thing to do,” Musk said. “Something must be done around them, and a number of them are going to prison, and they deserve it.”
His latest remarks come as Tesla continues to appeal a court ruling in Delaware that struck the mass package of Musk’s salaries. Musk collided with Judge Kathaleen McCormick, who issued his ruling, calling it “the activist who is playing as a judge in a Halloween costume”.
The company board has formed since then a special committee to review its compensation plan.
When asked about his political expenses going in the Middle Ages 2026, Musk showed that he plans to escalate his involvement.
“I think I’ve done enough,” he said. But he left the door open for future contributions, adding, “If I see a reason to make political expenses in the future, I will do it. I currently don’t see a reason.”
Despite a tumultuous year marked by the decline in submission, shareholders’ lawsuits and the assembly of political controversy, Musk’s message to investors was clear: it is nowhere to go.
