A CNN correspondent at the center of an unfair report that cost the network at least $ 5m for the slander of a US Navy veteran is leaving the network to war.
The main correspondent of national security Alex Marquard landed in hot water earlier this year after a jury in Florida decided that he led Zachary Young in 2021 claiming that the former soldier illegally used Afghan during the catastrophic withdrawal of Biden administration from the country.
Sources told the former CNN media correspondent Oliver Darcy that Marquard was fired-mentioning the “editorial changes” with its highest network.
Marquuardt who worked at CNN for eight years and recently headed its coverage for the Russian-Ukraine war-not mentioned the legal debut or the reason for its emergence in the launch announcement on Monday.

She continued to say the Afghans “trying to leave the country to face a black market full of promises, demand for excess fees and no security or success guarantee.”
The segment subsequently addressed Marquard, who described the situation of a man set in the US whose family remained in Afghanistan and said he found people on Facebook accusing $ 10,000 per person to evacuate.
Marquard stated, “According to the Afgans and activists we have spoken, desperate Afghans are now being used” because of the “excessive” and “impossible” amounts charged, showing a post of LinkedIn by young people advertising his services and texts between him and people seeking his business.
CNN stayed with Marquard after the judgment.

Marquard previously worked as a foreign correspondent for ABC News based in Moscow, Jerusalem, Beirut and London.
He has gained numerous honors, including Emmy and Edward R. Murrow Awards for a secret investigation of minor sex traffic in the Philippines.
