Rep. Jasmine Crockett accuses gopers of wanting to turn “chains”

Rep. Jasmine Crockett, D-Texas, claimed Tuesday that conservatives would enslave people like her if they could, claiming that their opposition is just another embodiment of old hatreds.

Crockett argued that current Republican attacks are a result of mentalities behind slavery and partition.

“Sims easier, in my opinion, to do what is right every day in which I come in and serve and do right for everyone. Because at the end of the day, I know there was a time and a place, and if they could, they would throw me back in chains,” she claimed at Podcast “outlaws”. “In a way, those who came before us managed to break down the physical chains, even though we still have a number of systemic chains with whom we are still a kind of quarrel.”

Such battles, she said, make her reflect on the country’s past.

“I think of the fact that they also had this excuse as if we were different, as if we didn’t all do the same and we were not the same,” she added. “And so, as the attacks look new, they are really tired and old, and we’ve gone through them before. And I can know hatred no matter if we’re talking in the 1950s or if we’re talking in 2025.”

Crockett claimed that while Republicans are ready to face a reaction, the “superpowers” of people like it will be revealed.

“And so with me, I know we have insisted them. We have been still able to accomplish so much despite them,” she said. “And I really believe that as we walk in this next season – this loser season for haters – I think we will be able to trample and show how, we are great, we are normal. We are actually – if anything – we have superpower, as far as I am worried.”

At another point, the host of Podcast TS Madison described the feeling “so scared as a black trans woman” in modern America, asking the Congressman, “What is it happening?”

Crockett continued to argue that if one is black or identifies them as transgender, there are those who “take everyone for anyone who is not old, white, male and rich”. Getty Images

“I like to say,” They hate you because they can’t be you. “So any little hatred they stand out in your way, in my way, it is because they know they see how beautiful we are inside and outside, and we walk in that great day,” Crockett said. “And there is nothing that they can do that will reduce us or make us feel less than, though this is what they want to believe we are. So let me say only thank you for living your truth, because this really requires courage.”
