Walmart is issuing a new security initiative – and buyers are not happy with the latest corporate efforts to reduce crime in store parking throughout the country.
A client in Bentonville, Ark., Posted a video tiktok that captured the robot security guard by patrolling the store parking lot.
The now-viral video presented Tikkker, Goldnemusic, following the robot about the parking lot, asking questions like “What is your name?”
Near buyers appeared equally interested in the newest corporate security guards, as evidenced by a woman in the video who was seen kneeling on the sidewalk to try to make a close photo of the robot in roaming.
The strange scene described in the video quickly raised attention to the internet and retired to thousands of views and comments.
Amid the tariffs, the rise in prices and the supply chain interruptions affecting businesses across the country, Walmart has recently been under criticism by customers.
“We will do our best to keep our prices as low as possible. But given the size of the tariffs, even at the reduced levels announced this week, we are unable to absorb all the pressure given the reality of narrow retail margins,” warned the Walmart Doug McMillon CEO.
This latest robot -related expansion, as seen in the Tiktok video, sparked only further anger. “That’s why prices will rise,” one viewer said.
“Price fluctuations are a normal course of business and are influenced by a variety of factors,” a spokesman for Walmart earlier told him.
Many additional commentators also express disappointment in the corporation.
“Walmart will do everything and everything not to pay someone,” posted a user.
“We should have kept our local grocery stores in business,” wrote another unhappy commentator.
Walmart initially began testing the efficiency of robots in selected stores in 2015, when they were first used to stock and labeled shelves.
In the years that after that, the company continued to exploit new and improved robotics technology, it, and supervision in an effort to modernize stores, continue with competitors and provide guests a positive experience of purchasing.
In an effort to more efficiently prevent and report the crime of parking, Walmart began installing high solar safety police officers produced by direct viewing technologies-in parking lots in selected countries.
Although they are located in Walmart parking lots, most of the surveillance footage captured by these Walmart Lot police goes to the implementation of local law in the event of a criminal incident.
“Information is active, whether it is taking a license plate from a vehicle. All that functionality is on the platform,” whnt19 told Live Technologies David Studder technology director.
“Mostly I see waste, [people] Pour trash all over the place. I have some friends who have experienced car stops, ”Khon2 told Hava Makakilo Richard Suzuki in connection with the parking crime.
Like the Lot Police, who serve only as supervision and obstacles to crime, Walmart robot security guards are intended to increase the visibility in the parking lots, and as many suspected commentators, are operated remotely by the prevention of losses working inside stores.
While many users express dissatisfaction with this costly expansion of supervision, others lasted a degree of understanding to Walmart.
“Undoubtedly not the first of its kind,” wrote one commenter. “The hospital that my wife works in there have been robots like this for the last five years.”
For now, Walmart robot security guards have been set only in selected places across the country, but as commentators noted in viral ticking, perhaps this action is simply another possible indicator of the recession.
